They know where the money comes from down there. You'll be surprised at how quickly they focus their efforts to get tourism up and running again.

I live in a flood zone of downtown Charleston. If it sprinkles during a high tide the street floods.

My firm is still finishing marine surveys and coastline inspections from Matthew and now this bitch is turning this way. I was here without power after Hugo for a month and my parents lost everything.

Maybe it's time for me to do my marine geology thing elsewhere.

I'll see you baws in Columbia this weekend. We're heading out Friday morning. Any place I can watch the Clemson game?

That's the truth. Their economy is based on tourism and no tourist will be going there anytime soon.

I sure hope so but that looks pretty significant and widespread.

I've never been to the island. So hopefully what you say is true.

They recover fast though. These islands go through storms a lot. Not of this magnitude for sure but they know how to deal with the aftermath

I was in DR for two tropical storms. It was amazing how fast things got cleaned up

They'll be back to getting tourists in like a month or two at most. They will do everything to get those areas back up and running as fast as possible.

Everyone else it will take a really long time.

Yeah I got a feeling when the "Live" video kept cutting into different portions.

One scene 10 people standing there, next cut there's one.

Phillipsburg is where the cruises dock and the mob spends money, hopefully those buildings held up well. This thing is a monster. It's looking like Turks and Caicos is going to get popped pretty damn good. Never been but I know several well-traveled folks who name it as their favorite island.
