No power or water but cell service (Verizon) is good.

Same north of Holden, up in St. Helena. Water usually stays up; low pressure...likely a lot of broken pipes. Water was good in Katrina; this one is worse, as trees are down en masse. Guess it was the record rainfall with massive top growth and wet soil.

Will take me two days just to clear my driveway; and that's just cutting a hole, and piling in the side.

Good luck to all. This will be a long haul.

Luling is a disaster zone. Roof damage is ubiquitous. Trees are defoliated or snapped. I’d be amazed if any fences are standing. Water from rainfall is starting to fill up ditches and canals.

Anyone have any more updates from the Luling area? Specifically around Mimosa or whatever they are calling the Willowdale area back by the golf course? Grew up right there and still have friends there that were staying as of late Saturday but I haven’t been able to get in touch with.

Also, any word regarding Ormond over in Destrehan? Parents of friends there as well.

There was a live cam there yesterday and it looked bad, but I don't have a link to that footage. However, here is other chaser footage from Golden Meadow:

Is the general consensus that this thing was nowhere near as devastating as Laura?

The general consensus is we haven't seen the damage from anything yet.

Baton Rouge is fully out of power. no cellular at least on ATT but internet is up if you have a generator. Wind damage here not nearly as bad, at least near midcity, few large trees down.

I'm trying to get any info about when we can travel down to Golden Meadow -- my best friend lives down there and was staying through the storm with me. Not looking good obviously.

Several folks with power in Baton Rouge, but not my family. Live around the lakes.

Any idea on timeline there yet? Trying to get in touch and cell is down as well.

Can't as bad as Nola considering the relatively smaller amounts of damage and so many people still with it. Figured it isn't as catastrophic.
