quote: Anybody have reports on Thibodaux and Kraemer/Chackbay area? My mom and my step grandparents stayed (smdh), and I haven't heard from them. Last I heard me grandparents carport flew away and they were receiving water in their home, to what extent, I am unsure of. My dad lives in chackbay toward Kramer, I cant get in direct contact either, but heard through the grape vine they are fine but have roof damage. I did see some snap chats of some people in Bayou Beouf having a few feet of water in the road. not sure how far up the road the water went.

Can confirm that folks in that area took a beating, but are safe. My little brother is the fire chief in Chackbay.

For starters, I hope everyone is doing okay.

But its so weird not knowing if im supposed to be at work tomorrow or not. I got an email that wasnt very clear, but am not getting any messages from my boss or coworkers so I guess im gonna chug some liquor and see where we’re at tomorrow….

Anyone have any more updates from the Luling area? Specifically around Mimosa or whatever they are calling the Willowdale area back by the golf course?

I was in that area this afternoon. Looks like a fricking war zone. Trees down everywhere. By houses, on houses, through houses. Just getting there is tough. Power poles broken in half, hanging across the roads. Feel like you’re running a slalom weaving through the trees driving down the road. They will be without power for weeks and weeks. Only saw one old house in the area that was destroyed. Lots of roof damage, fence damage trees down. But it looks as though anyone who stayed probably shite theirselves a couple times, but made it out in one piece.

I saw a drone photo from the Grand Isle PD. The guy sent it to my cousin who has a camp there.
Half the house was stripped away down to the joists and studs, Gulf side.
Neighbors house right next door was gone. As in concrete slab only. Bad shite

The western side took a beating. The eastern side seemed to fair very well, especially all the newer builds in and around Amaris. Too bad we won’t have a road for some time to get down there.

It may have been posted in the thread but I just got my cell service back not long ago. I’ve been in Covington at work since Saturday and am curious how the damage or flooding in Ponchatoula was. I live south of 22 but close enough to 55 I can see it from my driveway

I'd like to see some hardy 'storm chaser' types get in the Social Media video game with timely vids and interviews in hard hit areas. Get out there and get it in real time. I know it's problematic and borderline unethical, but I think the folk would like see some RAW accounting of storm effects, as opposed to the filtered MSM version. People would like it; afterward, even those in the temporary shock zone.

Incredibly lucky. Power is back on and I haven’t seen any damage driving around MC.
