Exactly, we’re civilized combatants, not barbarians.

The weather channel just showed the wind speeds from multiple bouys. 40s. 50s. One or two broke 70.

I thought this storm had sustained winds over 100 ??

Well it's offshore still and no buoys are directly in the eye wall right now.

They also have sustained winds of 82mph recorded recently.

Yeah, but still, his sense of urgency and Jeff's were polar opposites.

So I've been completely out of the loop today. Everybody realizes how fricked NC and SC are?

Think so? Surge is still pretty bad, but seems winds are not nearly as bad.

Wind was never a major threat. This thing is 12 hours into a 72 hour ordeal for NC and SC.

Seems like they are in much better shape than it looked 2 days ago. Just judging by wind speeds.

She's unloading the gulf stream on NC for the next day or two. The friction from the surface is focusing the spread out energy all over coastal NC. BR guys imagine Gustav in BR for it's worst three hours for like 24 hours.

I mean they were 40% faster yesterday

But yeah, this thing is still a decent hurricane and looks like it will stall
