Winds at the FP must be approaching 70 now.

People claim that the buoy they reference near by hasnt shown winds over 30kts sustained and 40kt gusts in quite a while....I just won't believe we have seen the worst at FP until the flag starts blowing a different direction

We about to find out what this flag is made of at this rate

The nearby buoy hasn't even had a gust sniffing hurricane strength yet. 48 knots is the highest gust. Hurricanes start north of 60 kt. It's going to get WAY more interesting there.

ETA: Although the buoy data updates every ten minutes and hasn't updated since 11:50, so the thing may just be flying somewhere over the Outer Banks at this point.

ETATA: It updated. It appears to be 20 or so minutes behind the live camera.

Once again people living on the fricking coast who should have left, I am not sure what you are trying to prove here.

I don’t live on the coast but in 2016, I had to catch a fricking bay boat out of my neighborhood with 4 kids and whatever bags we could carry. All of that was from a puny little system in the gulf with no significant wind.

Watching these pier cams makes me think back to all the small piers that used to be along N. Beach Blvd. in BSL before Katrina.
