Good look trying to get people to leave with the next storm

Can you imagine how pissed people will be if this thing isn’t as they’ve been told for what, two weeks now?

It’s the storm of a lifetime though

I feel like a majority of people were already skeptical. The media really does a disservice in their coverage of these storms.

Yep. Over hyping the shite out of everything, then everyone quits listening. Hello Katrina.

You can blame that on these weather people. Incredible that they are paid to be wrong consistently all the way up until the storm actually hits. They seriously don’t know shite

The Weather Channel has 18 different people spread for storm barely clinging to Cat 1 status

Every east coast storm is the "storm of the century" because of the major media markets.
I don't remember Harvey having a 15 person coverage team from The Weather Channel ahead of landfall last year.

I honestly don’t listen to anything they say and come to the OT when I’m looking for real info

It’s not not that they don’t know shite as much as it’s that they are so desperate to matter, to be needed, and get ratings, that they over- hype every event from a cold front to a thunderstorm.

Yeah. It's going to be hard to support any higher winds in the advisory.
I sure hope you are right dude.

This thing is extremely large and extremely wet. Very very wet.

RDS RC - pretty much my primary source of info in all things tropical weather.

Ya but it's not much more dangerous than your average summer thunderstorm.

The shame of it is that the next one might be the grandpa of all storms. This one is still going to bring plenty of rain, wreck roads, and flood out some hard-working people that don't deserve it.
When does autumn get here again?

it's been said a million times in this thread... intensity forecasting is still totally not understood
everything a couple days ago looked perfectly lined up for this storm to maintain top line strength... hot water, minimal shear, etc.
then... like strong storms do... it does an eyewall replacement cycle BUT... it never fully finishes that 1 before seemingly cycle after cycle begins so it never got the chance to ramp back up from a completed EWRC
and now... there's unexpected shear coming up from the south that's done a serious number on the storm
it's certainly 1 that meteorologists can look at to maybe try to better intensity forecasting
