Looks like the hurricane is getting “weaker” as it gets closer to land like usual. All the way up to 939 mb.
Once they get closer to land the government can’t lie about its strength anymore so they have to be more honest about how strong it is.

Funny how a hurricane is never worse than expected.

It’s called land interaction and upwelling of cooler water (which is especially likely when the hurricane is barely moving).

It’s easy for them to say a hurricane is 185 mph when it’s over the open Atlantic and no one has any way to verify that. Hype it up and print your global warming articles.
Now we’re getting closer to land so we have to be more honest about how strong it is.

At first I thought you were trolling. Now, you just sound like a moron.

Then why do many of the fish hurricanes not get declared to be Category 5? No one could ever verify their actual strength. Also, why didn’t they call Michael weaker when it made landfall?
You can look at the radar or satellite imagery yourself and see that this hurricane is extremely powerful. When these things get closer to land, they typically weaken. Land interaction, shallow water, and upwelling do that.

I’d be surprised if they allowed anyone other than response/relief workers in, anyway
It's looking like he's going to find a charter boat so he can take supplies and weapons.
I'm with you. I doubt the airport is going to allow normal traffic even after it's cleared.

Baw. Are you unfamiliar with L&L lines, denoting mileage, and the videos of the hurricanes, allowing the triangle math to be used to keep the government honest?

If you’re dumb enough to believe the things you’re saying, and are not just trolling, then no one can change your mind. You’re just wrong.
Sure, people will use this to scream climate change, but that doesn’t mean that the meteorologists out there are faking the information.

Ouch..... just unreal. The southeast coast is gonna get real lucky as far as the forecasts say.
Remove the opposite curse now!

I couldn’t imagine the fear.

They did. It was a cat 4 for a while. Then they did some extra ciphering and gozintas, combined with the triangle math, and upgraded it to a cat 5.

Hurricane Hugo was just like this. A big nothing for the east coast after devastating the islands. Stalled, came up the Santee River then the Wateree River all the way to Charlotte. That was a bit worse than we expected.

Oh yeah, they said it had 155mph at landfall which was 1mph slower than Cat 5. Upon continued post-storm analysis, they found evidence of slightly higher winds. Doesn’t mean there was a conspiracy. They never weakened the storm as it was approaching land, they just went back later after reanalysis and added to the winds

One thing that concerns me as it does move up the coast is it will get out over the Gulf Stream. One thing that we have seen in this storm is they still suck at intensity forecasts.
