To FL East Coast Residents: Traffic on Northbound I-95 or Turnpike ? I-75 Northbound? I-4? Normal for weekend or holiday? Heavier? Just wondering.

Cat Island has a place called Mount Alvernia. That is over 200 feel above sea level, but if you evacuate there prepare to have winds higher than the 180 they have at the ground.

It's going to take a gif that takes an hour to load to see any long term movement over the next few days.
I can see we're going to be in for 48+ hours of wobble watching.

Recon just left Keesler in Biloxi so we won't have another center fix until about 5:30 CDT.
From radar and google maps the approximate position is
26.6N 77.3W
Last advisory was 26.5 77.1 so it has moved WNW I guess.

How large is the wind field ?I would be prepared if I lived on the east coast of Florida wether or not I thought Dorian was going to make landfall .

That's what the longer sat loops look like to me.
Almost like a speed bump that temporarily deflected it and then it continued as before.

Google maps, traffic version. It answers your question; one of the best references for hurricanes in general. Like all other Google maps, set it to your location, or in this case, to FL east coast.

Hurricane force winds only extend 25 nmi from the center on the west side.
