Nice town. Good quality of life. Pretty boring though.

My family is from HUntsville and Athens. I've heard it has improved, but when I used to hangout with my cousins up there in my 20s, it was always kind of blah.

Huntsville is good if you have a family, not great if single but getting better.
Bar scene is decent but live music is lacking.
A lot of chain restaurants but there are a handful of good local places.
If you have allergies you will have problems as the pollen just sits in he valley.
Good outdoor things to do: mountain biking, hiking, boating, fishing, golf, etc.

It's a very, very different feel there now compared to even 15 years ago. I was just back there in May for my cousin's wedding and was pretty shocked at the changes in terms of night life, things to do, arts, etc.

I work very close to Five Points. Not sure about good places to watch games. I watch at the house.
