Mostly agree, but Huntsville is adding new dining and entertainment options it seems daily.

It's pretty boring, but it's relatively clean and they have a Top Golf. Phil Sandoval's is better than Rosie's FWIW.

Lived in Huntsville for 5 years. Never felt like I lived in Alabama.

Huntsville is on the up and up. Beautiful surroundings and exploding economy. Will be a cool city in 10 years

Much better than you would ever think. It's got plenty to do around the area. Very clean and educated. You'll enjoy.

Pretty area with plenty to do. People, however, are not very nice at all to out of towners. Very cliquey and old-money type folks.

The city is largely populated by out of towners, so I think this criticism may be more individualized to your circumstances.

So you affirm it's the best city in Alabama, but you've only been once?

I lived there for several years. Very clean city. Good schools. Average food scene. Below average social scene. Low crime.

Lake Guntersville (45 mins away) is beautiful. Great bass fishing. Will snow a few times a year. Which shuts the city down, even if a few inches.

It is overhyped. Redstone is the primary economic engine. You will have to travel to Bham or Nashville for activities. Its best pro is being close to the smokies.

If you’re susceptible to sinus infections, you’ll love the Spring. Pollen just hangs in the valley. I used to travel there a couple of times a year - spring & fall. Would get a sinus infection every spring. Local guy told me the Indians called the area The Valley of Death. Beautiful area though.

I got my RN degree there and lived there for about 3 years. It's probably the best city in Alabama, great schools, and a lot of professional employment, engineers, due to the red stone arsenal.

Live an hour north of there. It’s a boring Alabama city like all boring Alabama cities.
