Heard it’s very nice and is on the rise.

It’s predicted to be one of the fastest growing cities in the coming years.

Probably the best place in Alabama currently. Probably one of the top 5 places in the south currently.

I live just south of Huntsville, across the river. If you get real homesick, just drive out to the refuge at Mooresville and see some legit La alligators.

Stay in Louisiana and make it a better place for future generations. Everybody wants to leave their home for the next best thing. Pretty soon there will be nowhere left to go.

It’s small.

I mean, I know Huntsville has a lot going for it but when you visit, it’s more of a large small town in the South if that makes sense.

I couldn’t live there at this point with its current size. Maybe in a decade or two if it keeps growing.

The leaders aren’t giving us any good reasons to stay.

Used to be, you at least could count on LSU making it worth staying in La for. Now days that’s almost not even the case.

It’s better to live somewhere else with a better quality of life and just come back to LA to visit throughout the year. It’s a great place to visit but a not great to live.

First you Cajuns left France, then Acadia, and now Louisiana. There will be nowhere. Left. To go. Running away from your problems doesn’t fix anything, it just places it on hold.

it's a 'newer' city than b'ham, so you won't have quite the vibe/interesting places within the city ... but it's the best place for outdoors stuff, and it's located fairly close to some neat places like ashville and n'ville ...

Huntsville/Madison recently surpassed Montgomery as the second largest city in Alabama. With the crazy growth of Madison, eventually Huntsville/Madison/Athens will all run together.

Huntsville is the best city in Alabama hands down.

I will stretch that further and say it is the best city in the Deep South. Does it count as the Deep South? If not, it is the best city in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

A good change of pace for a flat-lander. Physically beautiful area....mountains, great fishing, clean.
Many cool places to go: Lookout Mountain and Ft. Payne close by, Little River Canyon and Falls, Russell Cave National Monument, Cathedral Caverns, Desoto Falls.

Wouldn’t quite call it Deep South.

Mid south is more like it

My Sister in Law moved there a few years ago and loves it. She doesn’t miss metro Atlanta at all.

I can't tell you how sad this makes me.

Especially because the chucklefrick good ol' boy politicians in Limestone County were so shortsighted, they've allowed much of the prime development real estate to be lassoed in by Huntsville and Madison.

I mourn the day when I drive through Greenbrier and see neighborhoods instead of cotton/corn/soy fields.

The Tennessee Valley is different than the rest of Alabama, and Huntsville even more so due to the amount of out-of-state transplants. That, I think, is the main contributor to its lack of 'distinctive' character.

I'm just helping my brothers out - I want Madison Co. growth to be contained within Madison. Let the fields be fields and the woods be woods.
