BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Police in Hungary have arrested a 30-year-old man who investigators say collected human body parts that he’d gathered from abandoned cemeteries and from his workplace at a hospital.

Hungary’s National Bureau of Investigation arrested the man in Budapest on June 17 after receiving information that he’d been storing the body parts at work and at home. The man is employed as an orderly at a hospital, police said in a statement on Tuesday.

During a search of the man’s apartment, investigators seized skulls, a complete lower leg and a hand, as well as a reconstruction of a human face prepared from facial skin. Other bones were found stored in a suitcase.

A heart in a jar was also found, which police were trying to determine whether it was of human or animal origin.

The man, who admitted collecting the body parts during questioning, said that he was particularly attracted to human body parts, and that he had prepared food from such parts and eaten them.

If he's a hospital worker, he should have had access to fresher ingredients.

But could he pronounce Chianti correctly?

Fun fact: Liver, fava beans, and red wine are three things that can be deadly if consumed while taking MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) antidepressants. This implies Lecter was off his prescribed asylum medications.

Like they say in Appalachia - It ain't poaching if you find it already dead. No sense letting good meat go to waste, ya know?

Oh, yes. I recently saw the documentary on Kevin Curtis, the Elvis impersonator guy who was accused of being a wacko for making those accusations.

Really, the specific people who Curtis accused didn't seem to be guilty. But there's no doubt that some people do that.

if you're into eating people, are you selective about them being male/female... white/black.... pretty/ugly.... like i can't even fathom deciding which human and which body part would even interest me. Like OP, what the frick do you want us to talk about with this thread? Salt/Pepper or do you go bbq rub?

Ever see people choose a specific lobster from the tank? Id imagine it's the same principle. Whichever one catches your eye and meets certain personal criteria. Everybody has their own preferences, you know?

Let's face it: that's basically what this guy was doing. Tank=hospital, bodies= lobster.

I think there's a very small chance this man hasn't killed someone.

Don't y'all find it weird that there are laws against misusing or desecrating dead bodies? That person's spirit is gone. You aren't taking it with you. It is odd being a lot of states still have elective abortion allowances, but you will be arrested and charged for disrespecting a dead body.

The person is already dead.

Are they really gonna need all the body parts anymore?

Atleast the Hungarian hospital worker didn’t make a skin suit
