For all the advancements western civilization has brought to the world, every once in a while you will find a white guy that will eat you. It’s just one of those things.

But, as a chef, I can tell you that people are very particular about food. All lobsters are not the same nor equal in some people's eyes. Some aren't the right shade of color, some lobsters' legs aren't the right length, some claws are wrong, etc.
I don't get it. But I'm not a foodie.

Happens in every race and culture. Cannibal tribes in Africa, and Indonesia. Cannibal cases in Native American History (wendigo), Hispanic culture, European groups, Epstein Island...the list goes on.
I don't think advancement in civilization has any influence on this type of condition.
If anything, I'd say Religion has had more of an active role in society considering cannibalism to be taboo and reprehensible.
