How does this happen?

quote:

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating after a human finger was found inside an alligator snapping turtle. STPSO said the report was made Monday after a Bush man found the finger as he was cleaning the "large" turtle to eat it, which had been caught on a trout line.

Deputies contacted the parish coroner's office and took possession of the finger in hopes of identifying who it came from. No fingerprint has been obtained from the finger yet, deputies said.

No local hospitals reported anyone missing a finger. Members of the sheriff's office marine division were checking the area where the turtle was caught, and a "human remains detection dog" was also canvassing the area.

Failed noodling attempt?

Real question is if that ole baw still ate the turtle.

For the turtle to eat a finger and that ole baw to catch it, clean it, and find it all before it digested it...that would all have to happen pretty close together.

I asked my friend if he does any noodling when he goes to Oklahoma to visit family. He said, no way im sticking my hand in a dark hole, could be a snapping turtle in there.

I sure as hell would. You not eating snapping turtle with the assumption they're only eating chicken breast.
