Here is another pic

The scaffold came from At-Pac but I seriously doubt they built it. There is no diagonal bracing in it and it is 3' wide and at least 30-40 feet tall with no ties on it plus a shite load of plastic to catch wind.

LINK

Article doesn't say who had the scaffold. Some idiot for damn sure. They are lucky no one got killed or fricked up.

Yeah in Texas for certain. In Louisiana it typically was always carpenters out of the union hall which were the carpenters that couldn’t actually read a tape measure so they showed up at the hall daily looking for work. White and black guys and even though the unions are pretty much gone it has just kind of stayed that way. Plus they build a lot of industrial scaffold and not enough of the Hispanics here can get TWIC cards.

Was the scaffolding set up on the One Shell side, or next to the three connected buildings on the other side? Seems like it would be on the opposite side of One Shell since I know there's construction going on there, but the article sort of implies that it was on the One Shell side.

I remember when Patent Scaffold was the major scaffold player in New Orleans many years ago. Office and yard under the Huey P. Those guys could build a scaffold.

I worked for them in '95. Office and yard was in Pearl River then.

Worked on a boiler crew in every paper mill in Arkansas and Mississippi it seemed.

That scaffold cost more per month than a man lift. Not counting the E&D.

In 1983 I got a summer job building scaffolds at Waterford 3 nuke plant. I had to join that fricking labor union in NO. Hardest work I ever did.

None of our shite collapsed like that, I guess because we could add fractions and shite.
