I've never eaten a Hubig pie. Ever.

Kinda glad now or I'd be all miserable too.

You have no taste.

Or you can't taste.

Or something.

Hubig's lemon FTW.

The 1st couple of bite of a Hubig were tasty. After that it was way too sweet and it left an unpleasant aftertaste in your mouth.

NOLA Article

"The future of the popular bakery and the fried pies that had become ingrained in the cultural fabric of New Orleans remains uncertain. No movement has been made toward building a new facility despite the council granting owners Otto Ramsey and Lamar Bowman a conditional use permit in 2013 for a new 16,000-square-foot facility on Press Street.

Hubig's never purchased the Press Street site or announced plans for an alternative location."

Total speculation here, but they didn't have enough (or any) insurance money to rebuild. Especially considering to rebuild to current health code and standards would probably take a lot of money. So much of their production was very old school methods and equipment.

But if it was simply a problem of finding capital, I would think someone would have come in and bought the name and recipes and decided to give it a go.

So, my guess to the real reason, is that it wasn't a very profitable enterprise.

I still have a pineapple in the wrapper that was in my pantry when they burned. As far as i can tell it's still in one piece and has not degraded too much. I vowed to keep it until I could get another one

I fear Hubig's has gone the way of Manuel's Hot Tamales. Our grandkids will never understand the beauty of these delicacies.

I say we open ourselves a little factory, gentlemen. The market is already there for the product.

We will replicate the pies and sell them in packs of two. We will call them "Two Big Pies."

People will get the idea.

$$$$

We can't lose. OT ballin'... cocaine for everyone. Who's in?

I'm starting to doubt they ever existed at all. The myth is just a conspiracy of the illuminati to distract us while they switch out all of our foods for genetically modified corn byproducts and labrador grown "meat".

Hypo: Hubig comes back if you sacrafice a virgin. 100% garantee that you will not face any legal charges or public knowledge of what you did. Would you sacrafice someone?
