they dont have thes anymore?

Nope. And they really fricked over all those people that gave them money for the rebuild in exchange for a case off of the initial production run. I wonder how long until there is a Class Action Suit over that.

Pretty sure they are starting construction soon. If I remember they had a bunch of zoning problems with the rebuild they had to deal with.

You know me, I don't like to stir anything up but I gotta tell you the truth. It is ALL Rebeloke's fault. If it were not for him you would be enjoying one of your treats fright now. He is also of French ancestry.
true story.

i used to tear these up while I was at LSU. I'd go to AM Mart for a large cajun turkey, Zapps spicy cajun craw tators, large Powerade, and a coconut Hubig's pie.

We had them along with Roman Taffy as wedding favors a month or two before the place burned down. Didn't go on the Honeymoon for a few days. Was awesome to come home to dozens of leftover pies, taffy, and wedding cake. Pretty much all I ate for 2 days. I wish those foods had all the nutrients required to sustain us. I could live like that.

One of the underrated choices but still nowhere as good as pineapple.

Been a lil while since I read anything on the situation but last I heard, the zoning issues had been worked out. The major hang up now was a disagreement within the ownership team.
I don't think we'll ever see our iced-over, golden fried, apple deliciousness ever again...
From Wiki:

On July 27, 2012, a fire broke out at the bakery. Flames were seen coming from the front of the building at about 4:30 a.m. The fire grew to five alarms, engulfing the factory. A little more than an hour after the first firefighters arrived, the facade of the building crumbled. No one was hurt, but the facility was a total loss. Co-owner Andrew Ramsey originally said he planned to rebuild and resume production as soon as possible,[7] and in 2013, the city approved plans by Hubig's to build a factory in a new location.[8] The efforts eventually stalled, however, before any construction work had started.[9]In 2014, Ramsey stated that he could not "give [...] even a tentative date" for a return of Hubig's,[10]because the company's owners were "not in concert about how to proceed". He added that while he himself would favor a re-opening, he had "no control over whether that happen[ed]."[1] As of summer 2015, there has been no construction work on a new factory,[9] the company's web site is unreachable,[11]and its official Facebook page has not been updated for more than two years.[12]
In April 2015, the New Orleans City Planning Commission approved plans to construct residential buildings on the site of the former Hubig's factory.[13]

Kids looking to take that insurance money (and pre-order money) that their grandparents and parents worked hard to make

They should just build somewhere else then.
Alternatively, sell the recipes, name, and whatever assets they have left and a group of us could have a profitable business by end of carnival next year. It's not rocket science.

They totally missed out on the "Blue Bell-like" disaster popularity. Everybody knew Hubig's pies and probably enjoyed them, but probably didn't make special trips to the store for them. Take them off the shelf, and everyone in the NOLA area is going to be waiting for them to come back much like with Blue Bell. I'm sure you can get a good 6 months of kick arse sales out of that when you come back. Blue Bell was killing people and they still had people lining up at grocery stores here in Houston when they came back on the shelf.
