We stacked tires all the way up the flag pole out front. They had to cut them off one by one ??
We picked up a teacher’s VW Thing and placed it snugly longitudinally between two mature trees.
Thought we were brilliant.
Once it was discovered, the lumber yard down the street sent their fork lift and resolved the situation with quickness.

Holy overreaction, Batman. Just admit you got pranked and move on.
Nothing more embarrassing to a bunch of Karens than being exposed.

The punishment is quite appropriate here. Educators and administrators cannot be held accountable due to their students behavior. Therefore any time a student acts up they must be punished severely so as to set an example for others. The educators and admin cannot be punished for the actions of the students. Educators are not responsible for how their students learn or behave. Educators are there to distribute the material. Whether or not the students learn it is inconsequential to teacher evaluations. This is why educators are so important, especially those with higher education degrees and masters degrees. Without them who would distribute the knowledge? It doesn’t matter how they do it or what happens afterwards. Teaching is one of the hardest jobs in this country. This is why doing away with grades is a great thing many states are implementing. If we get rid of all the metrics by which to judge teachers we would all realize how great all teachers are.

Public school administrators tend to be overly sensitive, egotistical, idiots; lacking in anything resembling common sense and suffering from an entirely overinflated sense of self importance. There are some exceptions of course. But not many.

students said their phones were taken up, their cars were towed, they were punished with at least three days of suspension and they were banned from opposite school premises for up to a year, according to social media posts. Talk about an overreaction, my lord

"You're correct, this is a serious issue.
Here are all of the social media profiles of teachers and administrators who failed to notice which kids belonged in their classes.
Would you feel safe knowing your kids were with these people?"

Oh, so you’re applying an opinion placed on a different story with a completely different fact pattern.
You opinion on "policy is policy" isn't universal?
Would that not then imply that you must agree with the policy in place for the 4 year old?

Does the school pay for their phone? I don’t know how others do it but the phones I allow my kids use are my phones. I pay for those. And that being the case, if I were one of these parents I’d go to the school and demand they return my phone to me.

Social media posts are always truthful, right?

But the students managed to spend nearly half the day at opposite schools without anyone noticing.
This..is just hard to believe.
My wife and every teacher I know would recognize a room full of strangers immediately.

How the f does a teacher not notice half the class is completely different.

Maybe it was only like 10 students total who did it and we are all assuming it was the entire senior class.

The organization it took by those who came up with this prank to actually make it happen is to be commended.
As others have said, the schools and the school system were exposed and embarrassed. That it took 2-3 hours for teachers to realize that their students weren't there and that the students who were there weren't even from that respective school is ridiculous and shows obvious security issues. Now the schools want to enforce extreme punishments on the students. Give them detention or whatever, but don't deprive them of sports and scholarships.

The article said it was a small number.

Just goes to show you…
Anytime you intentionally demonstrate how inept a person, or group of people, truly are - you will be met with severe negative over reaction.

Yup. That’s what it looks like. But you should still know the kids in your class by now. When we get a new student, we get an email alert, a system alert, and the student comes in with a schedule that we have to check.

this is the way these school 'administrators' are treating our children ?
Everyone keeps calling them Kids and children. They are seniors in Alabama. Wouldn't they be close to 20? It also says they cancelled scholarships. Did they make them call off their engagement to their coo-zan?
Rawl Todd.
