Agree. The floor man was not sure what to do though. Luckily for him both players were nice guys and agreed to split the pot.
How on earth does the floor not understand simple poker rules? I will never understand that one.

Just like any other job, some people are just there to collect their paycheck. If you are going to play poker for any serious amount of money you better know the rules. There is no guarantee that the floor guy will.

If dealer is a noob, slap on the rist. if a veteran, move him off table games to concessions or custodial.
Give pot to player A with an explanation that if the hand is mucked it's none of his business, look at player B and shrug your shoulders and tell him the rules and to pay better attention.

why do you keep telling people they are wrong? in any casino ive ever been in, if you call out you fold, and throw your hand into the muck, its dead..

That's not what happened. There was a bet and a call. That's not a fold. Player B tried to muck his hand, but player A was an arse and asked to see player B's hand. He has the right to do this since there was a bet and a call. The risk in doing that is that because there was a bet and call player B's cards speak if they are turned over. That's how it works everywhere.

then you're a dumbass for even wanting to see. A mucked hand is a mucked hand. If he folded a royal flush that's his problem.

A mucked hand is a mucked hand.
I suspect player B's hand had not made it into the muck pile yet. It was probably on it's way there when player A stopped the dealer from mucking them and requested to see it. Player A is a dumbass.

A lot of times when a request is made to turnover a hand the dealer doesn't know if they should and will call the floor. Most if the time the floor man will warn them that if he flips that hand it is live and cards will speak. The smart ones say nevermind.

Do you have to call your hand? Like if someone flips their cards over and says "I have 2 pair". If they really have a flush on the board but didnt call it, and someone else at the table notices, can they play the flush?

No, cards speak. If you call out your hand and are wrong the dealer will correct you.

Good thing nobody folded. Especially for player B.

Exactly, the moment he says call those cards are 100% live until they are in the muck. Call was his action and that is binding until the cards are in the muck.
After he said call he could have screamed I fold at the top of his lungs and it wouldn't matter. Only the original action is binding.

Okay, just did. Player B wins the pot in any casino that knows what their doing. His cards stay live until they are in the muck. Player A is a dumbass.

Can you help me out buddy? Player B in essence called to see player A's cards. Why does player B have to show his hand if he doesn't want to? I'm not a poker rules aficionado .
Does player B win because he did not say "I fold" or throw his cards into the middle pile ?
If so, dealer messed up big time by grabbing player B's cards, no?

So who gets the pot?
Player B gets the pot. The hand isn't killed if A asks to see the hand, but it would have been killed if any other player had asked.
It is why you never see a regular asking to see player B's hand in that situation.
