Louisiana is so low because ppl with disposable income here have more options (specifically a boat) to spend the money on. If I lived in Iowa or Vermont I might have a Harley just for fun. Bet since I live in a giant delta I choose to have a boat instead

Surprised this isn't higher.

I have 2 uncles who ride bikes and it seems like they are everywhere in Western PA.

I just moved from Utah to Iowa. Surprisingly, there is tons of waterways and lakes here. The Mississippi is very clean and is an awesome fishery.

Thinking about getting my first boat since moving from Lafayette. But since there is abundance of fly fishing trout streams here too, I probably won't. Once you start fly fishing, no other fishing will do.

I think you find that’s the case in most South American, and Asian countries. For many people it’s their primary mode of transportation. Places like India, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Taiwan the roads are chockablock full of motorcycles, albeit lower cc’s that you’ll find in the states, due in large part to our size and speeds we tend to travel on interstates to get to those destinations.

I guess because in other states when it’s nice to ride it’s hot and rainy down here.

SD is low population so the aggregate is easier to swing in a state known for being motorcycle friendly....Wisconsin has a lot of really good back roads, they paved them years ago to aid the dairy industry, bad roads are not a good way to transport milk, and so have a lot of rec riders who come to take advantage of it.
