Was it just me, or did that reporter looked scared shitless the entire time?

Black man with a gun in broad daylight?
He was waiting to get protected and served.

I guess the best thing is to remain ice calm and speak clearly and slowly. No misunderstandings. “Please instruct me how to proceed.” Is a great line. Don’t move unless instructed to move. Before any movement say something like, “ok, I am going to reach to unlock the door. Is that ok?” And then move slowly.

Say "I have a machine gun. Just kidding, it's just a .45. Don't you feel better now?".

I assume it helps that I'm white, in a decent vehicle and am usually business casual. Not making a joke, I really think it probably is a different world.
Nah my dad always did the same. No issues whatsoever.
What matters most is how you present yourself.

I’ve always used the tried and true “show me yours and I’ll show you mine”

With my hands in plain sight, i say "Good afternoon officer. I am a CCP holder and I am currently carrying."
Sometimes, they will ask where it is and I will tell them.
I have never been asked to allow them to secure my weapon, but I kniw by law they are entitled to and I am required to let them.

Why, if youre being stopped for a traffic violation, would you intentionally escalate the tension and place the officer on high alert by informing him that you are in possession of a deadly weapon?
*In Louisiana, if you are a CCW holder you are required as part of your agreement with the State for that license, to inform any officers that are operating in an official capacity, that you are in possession of a firearm when you are detained or arrested. Otherwise you risk forfeiture of your CCW.*

Its ridiculous that its come to this. Law enforcement has fallen a long way since the 60's.

got stopped on 16 with a mini-arsenal in my jeep on the way to go shoot once. mp5, ar, uzi, few hand guns, and a shotgun. told the officer i had several firearms in the back seat, all in cases. he asked what they were and i told him. asked if i could take them out for him so i did. then asked if he was invited to come shoot and let me off with a warning

When you get pulled over. Roll the window down and then place both hands on the steering wheel and wait for instructions. Follow those instructions. Don't make any fast movements.

Right or wrong I would honestly just wait until I’m asked, because I know I’m not going to draw down on a police officer.
