I am, which is why this is on my conscious. This would be an easy answer if I were poor

He wasn't responding to you. However, if you are a baller, then how is buying gifts for your nieces and nephews such a problem? Sounds like you are jealous or angry about something else and just projecting.

Ah, so you are actually upset about them procreating beyond your means.

That's pathetic. Buy your nieces and nephews presents you loser.

Is this a serious question?

I budget for his poor decisions. The money doesn’t come out of thin air. 7 kids. I have 4 siblings. My folks basically support him, which takes away what they can do for my kid. Not a big deal, in that aspect since I have it pretty good. But year after year it seems like another one pops up and he can’t afford it, he barely breaks $55k/yr salary before taxes.

Don't give them money and let them take responsibility for their own actions?

As a self professed baller, buying 7 kids presents isn't a big deal. You aren't budgeting for his poor decisions, you are buying your nieces and nephews presents. If it bothers you, then don't get them gifts.

Yet you keep mentioning it. I see this is actual jealousy and sibling rivalry. Grow up.

whenever a gift situation comes up, give them a card, telling them a significant gift was sent to The Global Warming prevention alliance in their name, or the American Cancer society, or toward research in finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

My favorite would be to tell them you bought $50.00 worth of socks, under ware and inexpensive wine and gave it to the guys on the street corners. Tell the kids several of the old vets with no home broke down into tears at the generosity of the gift made in the lucky child's name.

Suggest your brother do the same with your kids.

7 birthdays + Christmas. I think I’ll just get each of them a tshirt.

Give them quality dope or those little airplane bottles of whiskey.

Grow them some mushrooms to expand their minds. Buy them a pet frog to lick.

Give them pet possums, raccoons or nutria.

By them firecrackers or bottle rockets.

There are lots of good kids gifts.

Sounds like you’re more pissed that your parents are doing more for them than they are for your kids. All you can do is reframe the way you think about it. Instead of being resentful that your kids are getting less from your parents (attention, gifts, whatever), be grateful that you are in a position to give your kids a good life without the outside support. You wouldn’t want to trade places with him & his wife; don’t let resentment take over. It isn’t worth it.
