When you break laws you need an attorney. Especially when you break the laws of physics.

I am thinking that you travel back in time and leave a sealed envelope with an attorney with instructions to deliver to your past self at an appointed date

If going back in time to tell yourself the winning lottery numbers were possible while remaining on the same timeline you would have already done it and have already won said lottery in the future that you left thus negating the necessity of going back in time in the first place.

There is nothing really preventing the travel through time but you would create a new timeline with another you that wins the lottery and the you that went back would still be poor if you could then go back to your original future. But then again, the separate timeline you would have already won the lottery because that timeline runs concurrent to your previously mentioned non-lottery winning one though in order for that timeline to exist it would be necessary for you to be poor in another one yet still have some kind of unlikely access to the ability to travel through time…. Which would make money relatively meaningless really.

I don’t think you could ever talk directly to your past self without causing problems.

Yep, I’d probably try to kick his arse for a few decisions he’s made in the future.

If I were able to give my younger self a lot of money in any way, I’d probably be guaranteeing that I died at a younger age.

Of all the things time travel could do to help your future self your first instinct was to buy a lottery ticket? How about invest in original stock for Coca Cola, Amazon, Google, Bitcoin, NVDA etc?

Nothing? How would one go about reaching the faster than light speed required to break causality?

I don’t understand why you would think this would present problems.

If a future version of myself came to me, told me his story, and passed my Q&A assessment to determine legitimacy, he would not leave my house until I extracted every last piece of valuable information from him:
- best stocks
- future Super Bowl winners, NCAA champs
- Heisman winners
- NFL and MLB rookies of the year

I would write that shite down and save copies in different locations.

I might even let him frick our wife with his limp dick.

When he decides to leave, I never say shite to anyone.

What’s the problem?

Watch the movie Primer (2004). Probably most realistic time travel movie that covers your premise.

Frequency was a great flick on communicating with your past self.

Geez. Don’t get stuck thinking so four dimensionally. If you are operating outside of this universal reference frame the classic rules of physics do not apply.

Why overthink this… have 2 email addresses. Simply travel back and send email to yourself with numbers… profit
