Wait until you find out that Indonesia and Pakistan are the 4th and 5th most populated countries on earth.

Indonesia: 285.7 million
Pakistan: 255.2 million

These places have had large populations since before Rome was a Republic.

How does India have so many people? Where does the food come from? I’m constantly amazed at the population density in SE Asia

Someone I worked with from Australia was a neat guy and his wife became a friend. I ran into him several years later at Gatwick and asked about his wife. His response: Oi, I got ride o' 'er, went to the Philippine's and my new wife takes very good care of me. And then we hit the duty free liquor store.

Is that trash in the water in the second picture?

Have you traveled outside of the US and western Europe? The majority of the word lives like that.

The United States exported about $178 billion worth of food products globally in 2023, an 11% decline from the record set in 2022. The US food exports are projected to drop to $170.5 billion in 2024.

The population must be incredibly dense and highly-urbanized.

They must be packed like sardines over there, and they must have people sleeping in bunk beds 10 levels high over there.

Almost all of the Asian/Pacific Islander nations have an extremely high population density. Nothing to do over there but go out fishing, work the fields and procreate. And they're really good at all of those things.

I thank God daily people like you exist. It feels really lonely going about days where people just dont understand how lucky they are.

175 million people crammed into an area the same size as Louisiana. That's crazy to me.

Really almost all of Asia is insanely overpopulated.

There's no way it's worse than Lago, Nigeria.

Which makes me think. Wouldn't the title go to places with lots of high rises? Even a luxury high rise has more people per 1000 sft than a super cramped slum. So wouldn't Singapore or Tokyo be higher?

I went to Cebu and a couple nearby islands a few years ago. Cebu City was very densely populated, but the rest of the island(s) were spread out nicely. There were cane-fields, mango groves, decent beaches and forested hillsides.

I've heard Manila is an urban hell.
