Just make sure you have someone taking pics she can put on FB. That's all she really cares about. That and the size of the diamond.

I did it in Vegas. We went out for the night and I had the hotel set up the room with roses and rose petals. I proposed when we got in for the night. Kept it private.

Im taking my gf to Liverpool, UK to visit a college buddy and his family and Im going to sneak us into Strawberry Fields and propose there. The Beatles are her favorite band.

Unless she's expressed to you a specific place, do it somewhere or some way that has personal meaning to you and her, maybe in front of your first date spot. That or make a really nice weekend trip to NOLA and do it somewhere pretty on the second night. Avoid the cruise IMO.

Do something you two have done together that has special meaning for you. Just make sure to slap her around a bit afterward so you keep her expectations low.

I considered an LSU game. I have a few friends there in high places. (not so subtle brag) Unfortunately I don't want to do it in front of 90k people.

Best wishes on whatever you come up with for the proposal. Having been divorced, I'm not sure that I could do it again.
