I was 31 wife was 28. Going through the certification process to adopt our 2nd so hopefully we can have our 2nd when I'm 35-36.

Got mine out of the house at 44. The last several years have been the best I've ever spent with my wife. We are financially stable and now have free time to go where we want, when we want. Having kids in your 20's is hard. We weren't poor, but it was a struggle raising young kids and trying to start careers at the same time.
Now that I'm here, and our friends still have kids in elementary school, I can't help but feel like we made the right decision in having kids early. No way I could still be going to parent/teacher conferences at the elementary school.

I thought I would be this wise, patient parent versus how I parented my first in my 20s. I was wrong. And the more nonsense I see the worse it gets.

I was 31.
I knew that I wanted to have stuff (house, marriage, bills, etc) pretty much figured out before I had my first child which I pretty much did. I was easily handling all that stuff before we had our daughter. That allowed her to be a real joy in our lives and she still is today at almost 8 yrs old.
I knew I didn't want to be a person that had a kid and all that kid brought was stress.....I wanted me and my wife to enjoy our life with our child and I wanted our child to enjoy her like with us. It has worked out pretty well.

I'm glad we waited until we got our feet on the ground, wish we wouldve hit twins out the gate though and been done with it
