20, it was awesome. We waited a few years to have kids as we were both working and in school. We were married 19 years

Yep. I think people change a lot more from 22 to 30 than from 30 to 40.
Used to think the same, then I had kids in my 30s

23 husband was 27. Been married 14 years (I think). Waited 6 years before we had kids.
Advice: be damn sure before you have kids with someone. Divorce without kids is nothing compared to divorce with kids.

The wife and I had both just turned 20. We just celebrated our 25th anniversary last week. Wouldn’t change a damn thing.

I would recommend that you travel, see the world. Experience new things and do all you ever wanted to do while you can. Once you get married its not just you anymore, you become a team and sometimes the other side of the team will hold you back from doing things.
Not so, I’ve seen more of the world than most everyone I know. From Africa to Europe to all over the Caribbean and South America. No I wasn’t in the military either. It’s about finding the right person with the same things enjoyed in life.

Married at 19.......Divorced at 23
Still divorced at 63.......have had numerous great long term relationships just never got married again. No kids of my own, though still very close to a number of the children of past SO's.
Last 6 years been great with lady I'm with currently.

33. Good age as not as selfish and a few life experiences under the belt.

Married at 29, been married for 21 years now. There's no correct formula, though. A good friend of mine married his high school gf when they were both 18. They've been married for over 30 years.
There's the correct answer.
All of this "don't do it because it didn't work for me" or "you should go do all of this before you get married" is nothing but personal experiences prescribed to another person.
I know a guy that's been married 3 times...didn't work out any time, and the guy just thinks no one should get married ever, because it didn't work for him. Marriage is a scam to him.
We got married at 24. Been together almost 5 years now. My parents got married in their early 20s. Got divorced when I was 11. My wife's aunt and uncle got married before they were 20, and have been happily married for, hell, I don't even know how long. Probably 30 years now.

I never judge someone on marrying. It is the people who marry more than once I judge as fricking stupid.

Every time I look at the pile of unfolded clothes by my dryer I think about how much I wish I was married

Tracing our steps from the beginning
Until they vanished into the air
Trying to understand how our lives has led us there
Looking hard into your eyes
There was nobody I'd ever known
Such an empty surprise to feel so alone

I was 28. Divorced at 31. She was 25 when we married and had no clue of who she was or what she wanted in life. I don't recommend getting married until you're late 20s or early 30s.
For my 2nd marriage I'll be 34 and she's 33. Though things can always change, I feel this is the one I'll spend my life with, and I'm very happy about that.
