I've driven a stick for 30 years and yes especially when the engine is cold and oil temp is low and I'm intentionally trying to stay under 2500 rpms.
You're not making your case any better

It's actually a 1978 SC. I can't afford a longhood.
My ND Miata and Toyota 4Runner are also manual. Just a more engaging driving experience. Plus I don't have a hand free to text like the majority of inbred apes I see on the road these days.

What a pompous douchebag.
Most of my cars and all of my bikes have had manual transmissions. You shift by sound and feel.
I've even had a couple bikes without tachs, Harleys, and you don't miss it at all.
My eyes are either on the road or on the infotainment system trying to find a good song.
The only time I look at the tach is if the idle sounds rough or high.
So you are looking at it for every shift? Go suck a fat one.
i said the same thing you did but you said it so much better than i did.

I had no case to begin with.
You tryhard keyboard warriors talking sound and feel are humorous though.

I don't own a vehicle with an automatic transmission. I enjoy driving.
You have to keep an eye on the tach to know when to shift?
Really?

The tach is an option on the digital display but I never use it. I usually keep it on the fuel economy instead.

If I had a choice between driving a stick shift whatever car, and driving my Land Cruiser...I'm taking the LC. I enjoy what I drive...

I like to set my long distance hauls based on engine speed. If I cab keep under 2,0000 rpms I get good gas mileage.

I'd bet my car cost more new than your trailer.

this is absurd. anyone who has owned a stick longer than a month knows what RPM they're at by the sound of the engine alone.
you may look at it in the beginning or if your car is idling funny but to say you stare at it all the time because 'you're a real driver' is the dumbest OT brag i've ever heard

Noob F1 drivers with their silly shift lights!

You're going about this all wrong. If you think you get good mileage at 2k you should try 6k

You sound like such a tool.
My first truck was a standard, it didn’t even have a tach. Maybe when you’re starting out it could be helpful, but no one who drives stick on the regular uses the tach.
