Pretty sure he and many others that support St.G pay plenty of taxes for EBR public schools.

Well because it's a different time, man. I remember the days when you could call somebody a racist and others just shook their head at that and moved along.

In current times, if you're labeled racist you might as well be called a wife beater because it carries a much heavier weight than it did say, 20 years ago.

And don't act like race baiters don't know this. This is part of their little game. In fact, it's the main strategy. Wanna destroy a person's credibility? Go on a public tirade and out somebody as a racist in the public eye.

You can't purchase a family's priorities, but if you are talking about a learning facility(school) then yes I expect to pay for it with my taxes just as I do now.

The word racism has lost all meaning.

I also love the race baiters that never stepped foot in the ghetto. They are experts on racebating.

How can helmet head and physco girl talk about race in BR when they live in a decent area.

I owned duplexes and apartments in NBR and made a mistake of living onsite to monitor my property. The duplexes were something to keep me busy during retirement.

I finally gave up as decent people will not move to an area that taken over by drug houses, illegals that do not care about keeping up the area, and shootings everyday.

Let’s see the racism I faced as white property owner.

- called cracker daily

- if I went to court to evict someone I would have family members threaten to kill me.
(Guess which race).

- One tenant went to prison and I got the person evicted as a formal process. His relative showed up with a weapon thinking he could stop me from cleaning out the place. He lost that battle and left in the back of an ambulance.

- I saw minority kids shoot up a unit with Latinos in it. They tried to rob the Latinos having a World Cup soccer party.
Police caught one kid and guess who shows up. His momma saying the kid was a good boy even though he shot a Latino. Then she blamed the Latinos for having a party and having money betting on the World Cup games. I guess in her mind shooting people is ok.

- Drug houses fooled the BRPD narcotics. One unit would keep the drugs while the house doing the selling was a few units down. The house selling only kept enough drugs to sell for a short time period. Guess who ran the homes used for storage of drugs and weapons. The mamma or auntie. When BRPD would shake the units selling here comes the mamma or auntie calling BRPD racist.

- Latinos they pile 3 or 4 family’s in homes designed for just one family. The Latino workers would burn shingles from jobs and even normal trash in their backyard. I even seen them slaughter a horse and dig a hole in a backyard of a duplex to bury the carcass.

The problem with NBR and The City of BR itself is the City allows the thugs and people that do not care to run the show. The thugs and Latinos trash up an area. Then they leave after the area gets too trashy. The city does not enforce city codes in these areas as workers are scared to go in these areas.

Then you have race baiters that never lived in the hood telling the people outside the area what racist we are. I am still amazed at a lady driving a Mercedes Bens, who called me racist for kicking out a drugged out white tenant. I replaced that tenant with a single minority mother who worked two jobs and helped that young lady reducing the rent.

Until this changes the city will eventually be downtown, LSU, Southdowns, and Midcity. The rest of the city will be a wasteland or they will call it NBR.

Oh, the difference in the St George area is the people white, black, and Latino in this area care about their area. If that is racist then I am a guilty cracker along with other people of various races.

This. It’s ok for urban people to have the chocolate city and Chinese to have Chinatown and Indians to have the Indian reservation

But it’s illegal for white people to have a city

So, ELIA5, because, well, I probably am 5, mentally.

How could this not come up for a vote? The collected the signatures. Are y’all saying that there will be frickery with the count and not let it go to a vote?

If it gets to a vote, then only the St. George people vote on it, and it will surely pass.

I am seeing this as a done deal.

Thxs for all that. It's really sad and disgusting.

I always laugh when the DA, the Mayor, and the Police Chief lead a group with good intentions to clean up blight on an inner city block. I know for the politicians it's a TV op, and of course the tv stations are there to film and interview.

They always show able bodied residents watching the volunteers do basic raking, trimming and clean up; however, they never show them pitching in to help.

The fact is most of us care, but many if not most of the residents on that block could care less. They just watch as if they expect someone to clean up their mess.

Your post reinforces my opinion. There are far too many takers and not enough people who care about their neighborhoods in these areas. Basic cleanup would make a huge difference.

Racism is just an excuse for their uncivilized behavior. They can't use a rake or do physical work because they aren't treated equal?

I live on a street with black families that take care of their properties, send their kids to private schools and the dads and one of the moms have great careers. They are assets to the community and have accomplished a lot in their lives already.

It's not about race, it's an excuse to live an unlawful life, a life taking and not working, and justification for what they do.

Here’s a secret. The meaning and gravity of the word haven’t changed because of the rest of the world. The individual internalizing it has done that.

Yep. Screw neighborhood schools. We don't care that you paid a lot of money for a house in a decent neighborhood. Your kids should still have to go to a failing school with kids from the projects.

Baton Rouge is already lost. If they don't get St. George they are going to move anyway.

Scenario #1: St. George becomes a city and the rest of Baton Rouge becomes like North Baton Rouge.

Scenario #2: St. George never happens and all of Baton Rouge becomes like North Baton Rouge.
