How nasty is it going to get if the St. George vote happens?

I think all the race hustlers and pity pushers will be out in full force. Don’t forget about your vote suppressors. It should be the greatest circus in 2019 in Baton Rouge. I just hope it doesn’t make national news or goes viral.

Sad but true.

Based on last go-round, BR treats this like the ugliest divorce you've ever seen.

It will be truly entertaining and glorious. You will see the worst of the worst come out claiming racism, and you will see national headlines that will run with fake news stories that do not at all highlight the main issue, and for good measure I expect to see every state and congressional politician get involved in some way, too many stakeholders with too much at stake.

It boils down to one thing, education IMHO. You never mess with a parents right to educate their children in the manner they see fit, that to me is a basic part of parenting. St. George will truly bring to light everything that is wrong with BR. You will have 5 different cities in one parish and it will truly be glorious.

It will absolutely make national news

And it will be framed by the MSM as a push towards Apartheid.

For that reason it will ultimately fail, white guilt and media false narratives will be the undoing.

They city parish will annex everything they can except the neighborhoods. Then they will not be able to handle them cost of basic police and fire services to protect these areas.

All this while the potholes in the area get larger and larger.

Broome screams for more taxes for roads sorry I mean the NBR grocery stores aka “her personal slush fund”.

The BR establishment BRAC and BRAF will be endorse all this as a good thing for BR.

I would pay double the property tax I am now for st George to happen. Sending 2 kids for private school would be much more expensive in the long run

It would be a scene, but unfortunately it will never come to a vote.

The Clerk of Court will see to it. St. George will never be defeated at the polls... it will be defeated via loophole.

We’re gonna make sure the property values stay too high for them. Also we’re gonna put a moat around the city

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain that once the process has started, the city parish cannot annex any land contained in the proposed new city.

Scintillating analysis.

Were you one of the six Better Together stooges who “removed their signature” from the petition without ever having signed it in the first place?

Bad, because the Petition will pass muster and the vote will happen, which will raise the stakes.

Of course, the "Together Baton Rouge" people will never be asked the simple questions:

Is St. George leaving EBR Parish?

Is St. George seceding from the City of Baton Rouge?

Since that would lay bare the sheer idiocy of their name and purpose.

Sadly, while it will be the screams of racism that will cause the most division and get the most coverage, an ISP will be defeated by City of BR whites w/ kids in the magnets that don't want their taxes going up.

Why not just agree now to pay double your property tax and make the city better by investing that in infrastructure and schools? At least that way property values have a chance of rising enough to keep/push the poors and Livingstonites out.

So an unincorporated area that BR has never tried to annex into BR separatist?

I guess Central is a separatist city also?

As far as investing in BR they never wanted us until they feared on losing the taxes that come from this area to support BR which again this area is not apart of.

Yes, our tax dollars paid to help the City of BR and we have received nothing in return.
