No kids so the school part wouldn't matter to me

It would. Homes around good school districts tend to have a higher resale value.

Collin County property values are skyrocketing, this is caused by jobs moving North and the amazing school districts of Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney and Lovejoy.

These schools are attracting top students and even more student athletes.

You may bring more home in states without income tax but you aren't keeping it.

Not true at all, we have no state income tax in FL and one of the lowest tax burdens in the country. If I’m not mistaken Tennessee is in the same boat too.

No sales tax, so income taxes are extremely high

Depends on where you live, but yes, that's true in general.

Some areas in/around Nashville have pretty damn high property tax, but its worth it. Great schools, no crime, public works dept. that actually works, etc.

Louisiana and Oklahoma, two absolutely shitty states. Pay high taxes and still live in a sewer with bad roads.

Over 9% income tax and above average property taxes.

This doesn't count the 3% they collect from thousands of folks from WA that use a few miles of interstate 5 days a week.
