The food size thread had me thinking. How many sauce packets get thrown into food containers every day that nobody ever uses?

It has to be tens if not hundreds of thousands of gallons every day. We really waste so much food here. I don’t mind having to ask for the sauce that I need and even then I usually still don’t use all of it. But I’ve always thought of the people who just load up on 40 ketchup packets or whatever and then only use a handful and then toss the rest.

Ever ask Popeyes for extra BBQ sauce? They're definitely doing their part in preventing the waste of sauce in this country.

The government needs to focus their attention on this and leave the rest to smart people.

I can recall at least two news stories in recent years where someone was trapped in their car for whatever reason and survived on sauce packs from their glove box for a week or some such. Its honestly made me consider keeping some in the glove box, but it also seems like that is crazy as frick.

I'm too worried about straws to concern myself with this. The straw issue is HUGE.

Taco Bell gave me 47 sauce packets for my #6 + bean burrito last night. They must get a bonus the more they give out.

Probably 100 pounds from my house alone annually.

No booze is wasted.

I have a kitchen drawer half full of soy sauce packets. I never have to buy an actual bottle. Just throwing them in the trash is dumb.

Ketchup should only be used to mix with other condiments to make a better sauce or french fries. If you put it on anything else you deserve to live in a trailer.
