The 1.5 billion jackpot is just insane but how much money would it take for you to quit work?

Not necessarily live a life of luxury but just not have to work the rest of your life.

Give me $20 and I'll walk right now.

Wouldn't take a lot, actually. No mortgage, and my kids get dependent. I could live off 40ish K a year.

$8.75M would do it. That’s assuming a modest 3% on investment income.

10 mill probably

With conservative investing that can still translate to about 500k a year in living money

No amount.

Love my job. Won’t ever retire. Just work less hours as my health erodes.

I like what I do for a living so even if I won the lottery I'd probably just keep doing it but with more flexible hours.

I don't really have a big expense.

800k in portfolio means 4% safe annual withdrawal = 32k a year. With a paid off mortgage, I could live like a king.

My lifestyle isn’t very expensive, and I like it so winning millions of dollars wouldn’t change much for me outside of quitting my corporate, boing job.

Considering what I have already saved and my 401k, If I stumbled upon $500k after taxes, I’d quit my job. I don’t have kids so no need to leave anything behind.

like "quit" so i can be very leisurely with when/how i choose to work?

a $1.5M investment will produce 5% returns of $75k/year. that would do it, i reckon
