re: How much money is enough to quit your job?

I’ll probably pull the plug on my job once I’m around $1.5 million liquid. Within the next 20 years, I’ll inherit land and infrastructure valued around $5 million plus about $1 million in cash/stock. Between that and my own savings, I’ll be headed to the farm for good. $45k annual investment return at 3% is plenty, and I’ll probably supplement it with another $50k in salary off the farm. I can squeak by on $95k per annum.

Id need enough to pay off all my debt and have enough to take off for a year and then spend 6 more months looking for a job. I like what i do.
