I have no idea, and I’m just starting out. Is 80K enough for good times (single male) with solid spending habits and budgeting?

Enjoy what you have while you have it and adjust, accordingly, when you need to.

Just be an adult. For fricks sake.

In most places (not NYC or SF) I would say $80k is fine for someone single.

Depends on where you live.

NYC 80k ain't gonna buy/rent shite.

Lots of rural areas you'll live like a king.

We are talking in the south here. No way in hell I’d live in NYC if I couldn’t afford manhattan.

80,000 would be fine for a single person in the south, expecially one that isn't a keep up with the jones' type. Which you seem like you aren't.

You have to figure that out based on your situation. Add up what you think it will take to live and compare to your income X .6.

FWIW, $80K is pretty decent money in most locales

Starting out as in you are like under 25? Yea. That would be a great start.

I felt bad giving my dog walker only $80K for the year so I bumped her up to six figures. It was the right thing to do.

Then $80k should get you everything you need and most everything you want.

If you spend &100.000 a year it’s now enough . Be smart with debt and savings and you’ll be fine.

But is that figure still good once you’re in the 30s/40s?

Like what is a number that is comfortable? I just said 80 as a starting point
