I was raised with the mentality that if you can't pay for it in cash you don't need it bad enough. Every vehicle I've owned except for one has been paid for in cash.
I know this is the OT and basically unheard of, but the majority of Americans usually aren't in a position where they can just part ways with $30,000 - $45,000 up front. Crazy...I know.

yes.
took me over an hour to pick out a vacuum. a car is going to pretty much make me implode. department stores like dillard's give me anxiety because there are too many choices. soooo i'll let you rethink that offer.
quote:to answer your question: i know someone whom i lost recently to frickoffstupidasshole syndrome who pays like 500$-530$/mo for a 2017 f150. i think he put like 8k$ down. maybe more. knowing him he's probably paying $100 more than his note requires per month. don't get him started on that credit score of his

Paid cash for mine 8 years ago. It always shocks me when someone has a $500 note and $200 insurance payment every month just to have something to drive around.
It shocks me that someone would dump 35k of there hard earned cash all at once into something just to drive around. You do realize that cash up front vs monthly note at 0-2% works out to be the same thing in the end basically. Except in the mean time I've been able to invest that 35k in something else that makes money that whole time...and make more than the note cost on it each month.
