Yea I dunno about that. I'm old fashion and eventually would like for her to have the option of just being a stay at home mom. She has had a terrible life and I would just want her to be happy from here on out.

Was starting to have trouble with my 2010 Tundra with 200k miles. Upgraded to a 2015 certified used f250. Paying 590/month but that includes extended warranty I decided to get.

Company pays stipend and gas so yes it sucks i now have a note but it could be worse. Loving it so far. As soon as warranty runs up will prob trade it in

The reason I'm asking is because I'm debating going in debt and getting us a newer full size truck. I was raised with the mentality that if you can't pay for it in cash you don't need it bad enough. Every vehicle I've owned except for one has been paid for in cash.

Note or no note, it sounds like an unnecessary upgrade.

The Jones' and their new depreciating asset parked next door can go frick themselves, don't mind them.

Yea I guess you missed the part about the rear end going to shite and wanting to get rid of it before it does. I'm a very simple guy. I drive an old farm truck that resembles a POS but I don't care.
The truck that has a rear end going out is my wife's. It's a 11 year old single cab. If you've ever ridden in a single cab tundra of that model, you'd want something else too. The bench seat is terrible. I'm the last person that has to keep up with The Jones

Lots of "I pay cash" baws up in here but when I was at courtesy in Lafayette on Monday my budy who's the gm there said less than 5 % of people pay cash and that most notes these days are around 800/month. Someone's lying.......

If you have the ability to actually legit retire at 45, it's because you've been making a shitload of money, not because you drive shitty cars.

Hardly. 25 years into a company 401k with good match, and an IRA at age 18(I don't even fund it most years). Debt free other than mortgage which will be gone before retirement. Anybody can do those things. Other investments to bridge 45 to 59.5 gap. The last one is hardest. And I don't drive shitty cars, I drive paid for cars.

Almost bare minimum on a new truck is $35K+ttl, in BR will be $38.5K.

Let's say $10K down, financing $28.5K, that comes out to $500/mo 5yrs 2%.

I would like a new 1/2 ton. Not quite ready to bite the bullet yet on a $40K truck yet.

$0 note.

2000 Ford F-150, 5-speed, bare bones. Had to add cruise control.

175,000 miles and still kicking. Original clutch.

TTL out the door was $17,500.

Love that truck.
