1540 sq ft and the past 2 months have been $170 and $180. Fall and spring is about $75-100/month. Winter no more than $120. 62kWh per day in August. Up from 54kWh/day August 2014.
It should go down now that my wife and I have similar schedules. The AC was always running due to someone always being home. Finally was able to set the Nest schedule for 79 degrees from 6:30 am til 4:00 pm and 74 at all other times.
I know that my AC is getting ready to die in the near future (I think it's from 1997) and a new one will be more efficient, but I would like it to last as long as possible since I'm not OT baller. But you already knew that by the size of my house.

Yeah it's way too much house in my opinion. The wife has 3 ovens and she doesn't even fricking cook. WTF is that? 5000 under roof.

It is blowing cold air. It's great. I had a stern talk with my moron roommate who puts it on AC all day long even after we leave for work. Lol. Idiot chose to live in the room where there is the most direct sunlight...saying he likes light. The buffoon sleeps in past noon everyday and complains on how how it is...his bed is right next to the window. Moron.

Around $90 in the winter, and $150 in the summer. I am away from home for days on end working, and turn most things off during that time, as well as either adjusting the temp accordingly or turning the heat or a/c off when I'm gone.

2800sqft single story built last year with two ac units. $115-125 winter. $130-150 summer. On demand gas water heaters use $12-15 gas per month.

I don't have a big house, and I pay about $100-$130 a month for power.
With the one exception being that one month (or two) where Entergy bends me over and fricks me while they charge me upwards of $300 while trying to explain on the phone to me that they simply are reading my meter. fricking assholes.

Your situation sounds similar to mine but you're getting much better performance for some reason. Maybe it's because the wife is always home and keeping the entire house 72F? Maybe it's because she has 15 giant fricking windows in the South West?

I have porches front and back where most of the big windows are. The house was built last year, and I spent a little bit strange trying to make it efficient.

Is the 55 kWh/day before or after?
My house is a little larger at 1700 ft^2, and keeping it at 75 all day and 72 between 10 PM and 8 AM uses about 60 kWh on these sunny 100 degree days we've been having. The house is insulated but nothing special, and there's no shade trees, unfortunately.

But that includes elec for our whole property

2 shops and
2 sheds on the property,
to run our well,
for 2 large street light in our yard,
to run the cattle troughs, etc.
Not bad as it is our only utility bill. We don't have a gas, water, sewage or garbage pickup bill.
