I also pay $12 at the barber shop. All $12 is going to the barber/owner, so no tip. I've never seen anyone tip there.

I can only afford to get my tips did with the paltry ebt cash allowance currently, but once my reparations checks start coming in I'll be able to get the whole 9 yards

You pay the server to bring you your food. Why do you tip on top of it?

No, I'm paying for the food I'm eating. I tip the server because they're tending to my needs so I don't have to.

This isn't the same as tipping someone to cut my hair.

I can cut it in a flat-top, just a trim around the ears and a little off the top to neaten things up, and the easiest being just a close buzz cut like I do this time of year.

Of course the buzz cut is the easiest. Just take the Wahl and put a #1 attachment on it and go to town till the hair stops falling, then take the attachment off and trim the back of the neck.

Oh I wasn't criticizing you man. Just saying what popped in to my head. Childhood memories of TV and all that jazz.

I do about 20% but I've been going to the same person for years and I usually give a bigger tip around the holidays.

I don't typically tip for a haircut unless either they dis an absolutely amazing job on the cut, or I haven't gotten a cut in a while and so I can tell they did some hard work cutting me down.

I didn't know other people tipped so regularly.

$2. My head is buzzed...takes about 5 minutes to cut.

Mine still grows fast enough to be a nuisance.

I started using one of these and haven't looked back.

I remember when they came out. I also remember the craze of hanging upside down and letting your hair hang from your head and having it cut that way for a layered look. That fad didn't last long and it really helped to have nice, straight hair.

$21 dollar haircut, give my man $30. And if people are ahead of me when I walk in, he always takes me next. It’s the greatest thing in the world.

$10 on $57 haircut.

For perspective, around here the basic barber is $30 for the sharp-edged Staten blowout.

I just have to ask cause obviously I am ignorant to this, but what kind of hairstyles do you guys have that warrant a 30 to 50 dollar haircut?

I mean really ! I live in Katy texas and there is a five dollar hair cut joint I go to. I went to an old school barber that charged me 20 bucks to do the same job these folks do for five. If they trim my beard and do fix it so I can somewhere I will tip another 5 bucks but I don’t understand a 50 dollar haircut unless you have a permed man bun do going on
