A lot of really nice hotels have a 2nd floor conference area where you take escalators to to not take the elevators from guest.
Hyatt Regency in CBD NOLA has this.

Macy stores, Lord and Taylor stores, Belks, any two story department store. Some hospitals have them. Casinos, too. As the nation continues to get more and more out of shape, they will begin putting them on curbs.

If malls were the only location for new escalators, they would have gone out of business around 2000. I mean, how many new malls have been built in the last 20 years?

This is my first post on TD. I happen to be an escalator enthusiast and contrary to popular belief there is a great demand for escalators.

I rode a giant escalator at Tiger Stadium when I was 12 years old. Thought that was so cool.

Most subways I’ve been in are one story simple operations with a counter where you place your sandwich order. No need for escalators there.

I’m thinking of installing one in my house to reduce liability of drunks falling down the stairs at my mansion parties
