I worked in sports and news media so I don't consider them celebrities but if they are then prettty much most from 1998-2015

On the entertainment side I would say P Diddy was the biggest that I met and hung out with for more than 10 minutes. Shook hands with Tom Hanks once

My cousin is Pat Green

I used to make every show of his 10-12 yrs ago in Baton Rouge.

He was playing a show under a bigtop Tent outside Freds in 07. The wife and I were drinking a beer in the car before the show next to Circle K. As we're singing along to to "Adios Days"(my fave PFG song) , we look up and there Pat goes walking from the bus to the Circle K. I said "Hey Pat!!" all tentatively b/c I wasn't 100% it was him being dark and 100ft away. Anyhoots. Very nice guy. I didn't want to be a total tard but I got to tell him what big fans we were and I got to show him my PG Trailer Hitch cover I bought at a concert at the Varsity a year before.

TLDR Pat Green is awesome and I'm a big fan.

Met about a third of the '04-'05 Toronto Raptors basketball team once at a little Canadian spot called The Sundowner. They were out partying and enjoying themselves, as was I.

Was peeing next to Donyell Marshall in the men's room at one point.

Others I remember seeing were Jalen Rose, Morris Peterson, Rafer Alston. No Chris Bosh though.

Met the drummer from 3 Doors Down after a concert. Apparently, I'm related to him somehow, like 3rd or 4th cousins. When they came to Lafayette, my grandma got in contact with his mom and set the whole thing up.

I don't think I've ever met a celebrity by chance. It has always been at a convention.

Covered a bunch of Cowboys, Rangers and Mavs games from 1985-1990. Met lots of sports and non-sports people then. Talked casually with some players before, and after games. Used to eat in the press lounge before every game. Ate on round tables that seated eight or 10 people. Would sometimes sit at the same table and chat with people like John Madden and Pat Summerall. One game I sat with Sam Huff, Joe Theismann, Sonny Jurgensen and Billy Kilmer. Lit a cigarette for Gary Busey with my lighter, and later gave him a book of matches, in the auxiliary B press box. Got Jack Nicholson to autograph a Postman always rings twice photo at halftime of a Lakers/Mavs Western Conference Finals game. Rode an elevator with George Strait at a Rangers game Was just he and I. We talked about the game riding down and went our separate ways. Some guy ran up to me as I was walking away from the elevator, and asked me, "Did you talk to him?" I asked who, and he looked at me like I was a murderer and said George Strait. I had no idea who he was. Just figured he was a rich guy coming from the suites.

I worked just Mavs games from 1999-2008. The most memorable thing that happened during that stint was going in the Heat's locker room the night they won the 2006 Finals. They were still spewing champagne when they let us in. As I was leaving the Heat locker room after getting quotes from Udonis Haslem and James Posey, I stopped in front of Dewayne Wade's locker, asked him if that was the Finals MVP trophy he was holding, he said yes, and held it out, so I touched it. It had finger prints all over it, so I guess everyone that walked by him was doing that. Didn't realize I smelled like champagne until I got in my car that night.

I got to know Dirk well enough for him to punch me in the gut one time when I wasn't paying attention. I was proud he acknowledged me in any way. Helped Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn find their way back to the media lounge at halftime of a game.Once Cuban got into the movie making business, there would sometimes be actors and actresses at games. Most of the time I worked games, my seat was in the second row of the section next to the tunnel where the Mavs came out. The Mavs old President Terdema Ussery, a one time Nike executive, stood down there during most games. Got to know him pretty well. His family usually sat on the first row of stands right behind me. Sometimes when celebrities came to games, they'd sit in his seats. Locals like Aikmen, Emmitt & Deion all sat there at least once. Would usually just be them and their wives. Gary Busey sat in those seats behind me one night too, after his wreck. Patrick Swayze sat there when he was in town for some dancing thing he was in. Aikman is the only one I ever talked with. He asked for one of the halftime boxes that the Mavs handed out to us and thanked me for it.
