wouldn't you get a better more satisfying night's sleep getting a full extra hour in than setting the alarm for 5?

Agreed, snoozing multiple times tells me a few things about a person.

They are ignorant and lazy.

Zero. I tried it a few times, but it just makes me more tired and grumpier than if I had just gotten up.

I can't legally hit my kids in the face, so never.

I snooze once and MAYBE twice but the first 9 minutes I sleep. Then I do hit snooze again but I don't go back to sleep, I instead check email and the news on my phone. When that snooze goes off I turn the alarm off and get out of bed.

It is absolutely impossible for me to just jump out of bed when my alarm goes off. I don't understand how anyone can do it. I can keep from going back to sleep but I must lie there for a while and wake up before getting out of bed. I am not a morning person at all.

I always ALWAYS wake up before the alarm goes off. I tend to close my eyes and let it go off anyway but I have this insane built in clock. I also know what time it is when I wake up in the middle of the night to within 2 minutes. I am never wrong.

Zero times, I'm usually awake before it goes off. I have been getting up every day at 5:30 for the last 15 years.

I really don't know why I continue to have an alarm.

None because I'm a grown up. My fiancee, though...about as many times as the time space continuum allows her.

That's a preposterous claim.

0. I don't need a alarm to wake me up. I guess my inner clock just wakes me up when it's time to get ready for work.

I really don't understand the snooze button way of thinking. I usually need to shite at about 5:00 AM but don't really have to wake up until 6:30. So I just get up and enjoy a nice deuce and the sunrise. But I go to sleep before 10:00 most nights.

Agree. Sleep hygiene is complicated and changes over your life. As younger men/kids we all wanted to sleep as late as possible.

If I was 22 and working an office job I would drag my arse in barely awake.

When I was in high school I used to set my alarm early and snooze it 5-6 times. But eventually I wised up and started getting up early, getting ready, then going back to sleep for 20 minutes before leaving for school. That "nap" is worth its weight in gold. If you just slept 20 minutes longer originally, you wouldn't know the difference. But getting ready then going back to sleep is wonderful.

I've never understood how people do this. It seems like torture. It sucks being in a good sleep then being woken up by your alarm. It happening once is disappointing enough, I can't imagine purposely wanting to do it 5 or 6 times.

Some people have no choice. I've gotten a little better. I use 2 alarms; my phone and an alarm clock with a vibrating disc that goes in my pillow case. My phone starts going off 30 minutes before I have to wake up. My alarm clock is pretty much last call. Some people sleep extremely deep in the last couple hours of sleep to the point where they could sleep through almost anything. On my day off I could easily sleep for 14 hours if I let myself.

I've tried both ways, and for some reason I prefer the snoozing. Those 8 or so minutes of sleep I get between alarms feels like a deeper sleep and wake up more rested when its time. It's screwy but it works for me.

None, alarm goes off feet hit the floor, I never understand how somebody can just go back to sleep multiple times. Get your lazy arse up and get to work. Off your arse and on your feet you don't have time to beat your meat.
