When I take my PT test I do 40 straight before I stop, if I am not actively doing push ups I start hitting failure around 50. If I prepare for the test I can do between 60-70. But nonstop is it in the 40-50 range.

Depends, are we talking the exercise or the frozen confection?

Brain Freezes are a real issue.

Who wakes up and wants to be "average"?
How special is an "average" person?
How much determination is required to be "average"?

I can bench 315 lbs. 3 set of 8 reps, that computes to... ALOT of push ups!

Apparently one of LSU's lineman says he can do 80 without rest.

No wonder we lose every game

I had soldiers left and right that could match or exceed that in under two minutes.

The op said without stopping. You did not have soldiers left and right who could knock out 80 push-ups without pausing in the rest position. Knocking out however many push-ups in a set time is different than going without stopping. It is quite the feat

Yeah, I was pretty middle of the road PT-wise and could do 70 or so. We'd usually have several guys break 100. Hell, I think 42 was the bare minimum for a 20yo at that time.

Once again, that’s in a 2 minute time frame. Most soldiers pause within that 2 minutes to rest

My 18 yr old could drop and pop out 60 but he is 6’ 160 and has a decent upper torso. Me, about 10 unless I did them on the reg and can increase that. I’m oooold though.

I'm 42 and don't belong to a gym. I can do 40

I did the 100 pushup challenge before. I would get winded around 80 but made the 100
My cardio sucks but my beer is good

The chart listed is sad. It matches the avg weight of the America woman I guess

24 push-ups for age 20-29

Wait, half the people in this age group can't crank out more than 24 non-stop?

I can do 35 non-stop right now if my life depended on it.
