can’t tell if the downvotes and comments are out of sarcasm or serious but I’m just here to say that if a man has trouble doing 15-20 pull-ups then that’s really sad

The OT truly is the gift that keeps on giving. I'll take a wild guess that maybe about 5-10% max of the worlds population can go out and do 15-20 pullups right now.

And I'm confident that that number is being generous. Unless you workout and do pull-ups consistently. I guarantee you are not about to go and do 20 pullups.

Yeah. Looking just at the US, the majority of adult men are overweight (a significant % are obese). I think something like 19% of the population (men and women) do any strength training. That 19% includes people that do super light weight but don’t do anything remotely serious. So the real % that does any real upper body pulling work is really slim.

yea but yall dont understand, they did 18-20 back in the late 90s when they were in the military.....surely they can still do that even though they are 50 lbs overweight and havent done one in 15 years.....right?

OT is laughable. 90% of users on here couldnt do 5 full dead hang chins much less 20.

actualyl the studies i saw were really closer to 10% perform resistance training more than once a week. So 10% actually do any real training

but the posters of the OT can do 18-20 deadhangs

I’m 5’11 and 195 pounds and I do a lot of pull work, different styles and with different weight. You’re right it’s something you have to really train for

But do you really go to chest height, hold for 4 seconds, then go all the way back down?

I could do about 18 pull ups when I was in my early twenties, while in the Navy.
I'm 79 years old, so I can no longer do pull ups. Biceps are about gone.
I can still do sit ups, and jump rope. Probably no more than twenty of each.
