Oh shite, you put up a video of a crime happening in a city in the US, so enlightening. You're right, New Orleans is the only place that stuff like that happens. You got me man, case closed, burn New Orleans to the ground

Lower 9th ain't what it used to be. I see people biking at 3-5am all the time. I wouldn't, but it is far from the worst area.

Granted usually along St Claude where there is a little more traffic.

Nobody would argue that it's not a dangerous city. It's just gotten comical that the dripping pussies around here take every crime story and turn it into a 20 page thread about how all white people who go into the city will die.
Not kidding, the bubbas don't understand that there were 10 million visitors last year, many new condos and apartment developments, and much gentrification happening. It's not 90% black welfare queens and projects, but I don't expect people who only come to Nola and visit Bourbon to drink hand grenades and eat at Bubba Gumps to understand.

Nola needs help. Mitch is the most hated politician in my life time for being such an arse clown. Nola is at a tipping point where so much good has happened, but if the next mayors race doesn't go the right way and the 5% scum don't stop acting like animals, we are going into a big black hole.

LaToya or someone similar would be the nail in the coffin for post Katrina revitalization

I'm not familiar with all of them, but I would have to agree that she would be the worst. Damn I hate La politics. It's always the same crap and you would think after all of these years I might get used to it.

It's a great festival and the "tipping" thing is just a perpetuated stereotype that is not even true. It's become a reality because people rather believe dumb and tired stereotypes than interact with people.

It's sad because people let this get in the way of them meeting genuinely good people

Yes, the same people who can afford to fly in and spend money in NOLA during Essence are the same people who sit on their asses all day collecting a gubmint check.

You really don't know much about who attends Essence Fest, except "they are [bad and scary] black people", do you? I know in your eyes, using those words together is redundant.

Yeah, I don't understand the whole "im not going to New Orleans on the weekend of Essence festival because it is an event in which mostly black people attend". People who say that shite has probably never associated with a black person in their life and when someone feels uncomfortable around certain people, it can be sensed so them feeling uncomfortable just makes them feel as if the situation is a lot worse than it is.

It's not like you have to act different around different types of people. Just do what you do and if people don't like it, frick em..

I've bartended in the quarter for several years and 100% of the time I made more money and better tips from the Essence crowd than whatever redneck SEC teams sugar bowl crowd.

Of course you have.

I worked in a restaurant/bar for 3 years, and blacks were far and away the worse tippers. It wasn't even close.
