I would imagine a lot of cops in small town OK or AR have little to no idea who Ron Paul is (an Obama bumper sticker would be a different story), and there are plenty of local rednecks with long hair.

I have no doubt that at some point in my life I have dressed in a way or had an appearance that in some way may have "looked" suspicious to a police officer. However, I have generally avoided participating in illegal activities, and when questioned by police have been cordial and non-confrontational so as not to raise any suspicion. As of today I have yet to have had my arse kicked by a police officer

I have several times. When I was a punk arse teen doing punk arse shite.

From memory I defiantly wouldn't tell a cop my name when they busted at HS keg party.

When I got in a fight in Tigerland and 'resisted' arrest b/c I didn't SEE the cop coming up behind me to cuff me.

I don't think you can be younger than 25 and not look suspicious, unless you're wearing profession clothes or religious stuff.

+1 ... small towns or big cities ... the tickets i've gotten were warranted and the cop was cordial about it ... the tickets i haven't gotten were certainly warranted and the cop was peeved about it, but let me go with a warning ...

This is exactly what was told to me when I was holding up a funeral procession. I was trying to merge onto I110 when traffic was stopped. A cop on a bike pulls up next to me and asks me "Are you in the funeral procession?" I said no. He said "Then get the frick out of the road." What a dick.

Got cussed and hit with one of those long flash lights back in the late 80's for smarting off to an officer. I was drunk when they pulled me over and had just spilled a drink in my lap. He said looks like you was so scared of us you pissed your pants....and I told him , what you doing at my dick ****. He worked on me with that flash light, I didn't get a DWI but had to get a few butter fly stitches

Wa arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. Cop was very nice but his partner went through my truck, pulled out my glove, and started yelling "look we got an athlete!" Also made me swallow dip. Same guy asked every black kid at the station if they knew English.

Recently I was at a bar who was having a block party sorta thing in the parking lot. They had food and beer outside in a blocked off area. It rained and everybody went inside. The blockade was still up after it rained so I went back outside and a cop told me to walk over to him. Took my beer, asked if I knew I was braking the law. Told him I was well inside my rights an he flipped out. Started cussing me like crazy. I asked my gf to take some pictures of where I had been standing with my beer and the cop grabbed the back of my neck and slammed my face into the hood of his car. I then called him every bad word in the English language and probably more.

He gets me to the station and in my cell for about 5 minutes before he opened it, walked me to the gate, and told me to get the frick out. Apparently the bar owner made a call and explained to the retarded fricking police officer.
