One lived in a duplex in lakeview next to a family member, 72/yo chronic smoker, overweight, hypertension ect. The other was in her 80’s and lived at Lambeth house (ground zero)

A few friends who’s parents tested + or worked in hospitals. It’s real in orleans and JP. A lot of people on here downplay the entire thing. I feel bad for the min wage employees at grocery stores in town.

Turn on any 24/7 news network and you'll see why people say that. And I don't think anyone denies that it can be serious. The question for me is, how many lives are also being ruined by these stay at home orders. I know a few people who were just entering the workforce after graduating from college and no work is hitting them hard. I also know some who are working from home that it's not even bothering them any. I just think there could have been a better balance than shutting the whole country down.

People are trusting politicians, of all people, to have their best interests in mind. That's not a good idea. They're trying to outdo one another and it has made some go way too far, IMO. The stimulus package is a complete joke for some people who were forced out of work who had a good career going that all of a sudden came to a halt. Sure, some people have money saved up, but when you force people to shut down and only offer what's essentially minimum wage or below, that's bullshite.

Grandpa died of it last week. Was diagnosed and okay, then got worse a few days later, went to hospital at 3 and was dead by 6.
In a VA home.

If we can't trust our public servants then who can we trust?

Scariest thing for me was I came into contact with two of the five people, while they had it. They both started feeling bad within 12 hours of me being near them. It’s been 15 days since my last contact with one of them, but I was scared as shite for 4-5 days.

Me.

I'm finally getting over it.

Took about 9-10 days. My symptoms weren't severe. Being out of work sucks

6.

All old. All but 1 have been very mild symptoms so far. The bad one is in his late 80s. No vent though.

That’s the mistake right there. Only thing you need to watch is the “Curve”. It’s basic science and math. Even though I didn’t care for him, Gov Edwards is doing a pretty good job. I will watch his briefings every once in a while.
