I’m assuming it is more than Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade, but just curious in case someone knows a close estimate.

What do you think is the number for Spanish Town?

It’s a great family parade. Probably the best BR has to offer

For the first half of the route, sure. Gets a little rowdy on the last stretch. But you knew that.

If the weather in Baton Rouge is anything like it is in my area, a lot of people should have attended….it is fricking beautiful!

Not my initial thought when I think that parade, but fair enough.. it’s tamer the first half.

The people on the floats are drunker than the crowds, somehow. I’m waiting for the year they fall though a float they’re hopping on.

What a weird question.

The only actual answer we can give you is: A lot of people.

I think it’s likely Spanish Town, primarily because the location can accommodate more people.

Prior to the flood, upwards to 150k attended the Spanish Town.

From google:

“The Spanish Town parade is definitely the largest Carnival parade in Baton Rouge history. In the 2010s, newspapers consistently report that over 150,000 attendees each year crowd the streets in and around the Spanish Town neighborhood to watch floats and walking krewes depicting political and social satire.Mar 20, 2021“

Well yeah, it offers both sorts of environments. But it’s not as raunchy overall as Spanish town. The younger crowd can do the bars and the families do the neighborhood and the floats are just good fun. It’s really a perfect setup.

Can confirm. Sometime circa 2002 the LSU rugby team helped out the parade by walking alongside the floats to make sure nobody got run over. We all ended up drunk Bc the float riders gave us drinks. I passed out somewhere about an hour in and was laid out in the float the rest of the way, I think. Puked too but can’t recall where.
