How many of you still live in your hometown (or relatively close by)?

Relatively close by...let's say ~ 60 miles.

I grew up Southwest of Austin, went to college at UT, worked in Austin for right around 28 years and now have settled back into my hometown. I mainly work from home now and commute to our office once or twice a week.

My kids have been spread out over and they are slowly coming back into town (except for my oldest who looks to be in DFW for the haul). I have no regrets and am comfortable here.

I guess I went through a phase in my 40's where I wished I made some different moves for a change of scenery, but now I am so thankful I have stayed put. It's a great place.

What about you? Any of you live in your hometown? Have you been there your entire life or have you moved off, missed it, and made the trek back?

I do, but wouldn't mind moving out of state.

I'm from Thibodaux but I live in Baton Rouge. I'd love to get the hell out of here.

Moved away for 8 years for college and the first few years of work. Didn't really care for the city life so we moved back

I lived in the Westbank for the first 15 years of my life then Katrina happened and I moved to California. I've been here the past 10 years. If I move it will probably be to Texas.

100 miles away. Close enough to go in every 3-4 weekends for our parents to see the kids. Far enough away where I have a built in excuse to miss everything if I want.

perfect.

I do and don't really have any plans to move. My wife and I both have good careers and we also have a good chunk of my family here in Shreveport and South Arkansas.

not to hijack but is there a stigma attached to never having left your hometown?
