We do.

I tithe to Prison Fellowship Ministries. Helps those who most need it in a Christian way.

I despise these large mega churches since I’ve moved to a big city.

Same. We give 10% but not all of that goes to the church we attend. Shriners CH is a great one to contribute to. I like to give locally as much as I can...food bank, Manna House, Council on Aging, etc.
It's not always money. I may grab a couple hundred worth of non-perishables and drop them off.

Does catholic school tuition count?

We used to give 10% until we realized our pastor was taking extravagant vacations
He lives in a regular home and drives a regular car, but his wife got careless with posting their vacations on Facebook and a bunch of people left the church because of it

Yep

I have been a volunteer coach for over ten years. I give to the church I attend, we give to other philanthropic groups, sponsor other kids events and activities, volunteer for second harvest food bank, Santa to a Senior, erc.
There are alot of programs, methods and ways out there to tithe but I would agree that any church, leader or pastor grasping to the
10% income rule" is likely not rooted in your best interest

It's a shame that's the only value you've ever found in a church. It took me almost 40 years to find my church and I'm glad I did. the right church offers so much more than just someone reading the bible to you.

Nah, I don't give my hard earned money to scammers (other than the US government, but don't have much of a choice).

Woah so they charge you for church services? I knew this was a cult.

Also the 10% rule is pretty outdated and they just kept it around to make people feel like they have to. You should just give what you can and are led to give. Could even be more than 10%

frick no
Religion is for losers. Causes wars and anybody can be a good person without it. Some need it to not make shitty decisions but that's on them. Weak people

Well, if I gave that much to the church, I couldn’t afford NIL collective for football…a man’s got to keep his priorities straight.

How do you determine who is good and who is bad?

I usually put Monopoly money in or a piece of paper with IOU written on it. Sometimes I get weird glances but they can piss off.

I give close to 10% away if you count all the random things I give money to in a year. Not sure what you're laughing about.
